Mahāvairocana, the supreme deity in Esoteric Buddhism (Vajrayana), is revered as the highest Buddha within the tantric tradition and the primordial source of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. In the dual mandala systems of the Vajradhātu (Diamond Realm) and Garbhadhātu (Womb Realm), Mahāvairocana occupies the central position, presiding over the entire pantheon of enlightened beings. As the fundamental Buddha of the Vajrayana cosmos, all manifestations of wisdom and compassion emanate from his ultimate reality.
