His appellations include the courtesy name Dongbin and the Taoist sobriquet Master of Pure Yang (Chunyangzi), while he styled himself as the Daoist of Return (Huí Dàorén). A historical figure of the Tang Dynasty, he hailed from Yongle County in Hezhong Prefecture (modern-day Ruicheng, Shanxi Province). |
